De Leeuw en de Aap

 

Voor veel situaties is wel een fabel, legende of volksverhaal te vinden waar een goede verstaander een les uit kan trekken! In Ethiopië zijn dierenverhalen populair.

leeuwOp een dag trok de Leeuw ten oorlog. Zijn vrouw bleef alleen achter. Aha, dacht de Aap en hij maakte van de gelegenheid gebruik om de Leeuwin het hof te maken. Hij deed dit op een bijzondere charmante manier, waardoor het niet lang duurde of de Leeuwin viel volledig voor hem. Ze ging overstag.

Op een avond kwam de Leeuw onverwachts thuis en betrapte het stel in een innige omhelzing. Zijn droom over zijn goede huwelijk spatte uiteen. Dit bracht hem tot een enorme woede en hij brulde woest om zich heen. De Aap schrok zich rot en rende weg. De leeuw spurtte hem achterna. Na een lange achtervolging kwamen ze bij de rand van een ravijn tot stilstand. De Aap had geen andere uitweg en liet zich op zijn billen naar beneden glijden. De rots was ruw, de Aap verloor al zijn haar op die plek.
